Why are we serving here?

ForColumbia’s mission – to bring Christians together to love and serve our neighbors – puts us in touch with those in Columbia who may feel more marginalized;  elderly individuals, single parents, those with disabilities or those struggling with financial instability. This year, we are serving neighbors in the southwest area, primarily West Bellview and West Bethany Drives off of Scott Boulevard. When we give our time for the benefit of others, we send the message that they are valuable.

Don't Forget to Wear Your T-Shirt! Green = Site Leader. White = Volunteer.What can I expect?

Volunteers will be serving outside in this neighborhood helping residents with yardwork and other neighborhood cleaning projects; helping residents move larger trash items to the dumpster we will provide; and other outside projects as identified. In addition, some volunteers may be asked to serve residents inside with light cleaning needs, as requested.

What should I bring?

  • If you have a leaf blower, a weed eater and/or pruning shears, we’d love for you to bring them;

  • Come prepared to work outside; if sunny, we encourage you to consider bringing sunscreen and/or a hat.

  • We encourage all volunteers to wear close-toed shoes.

  • Be sure to wear your #ForColumbia2021 T-shirt!

Can I serve here with my children?

Yes, this is a great location to serve as a family with elementary-aged kids who can help!
