Why are we serving here?

One of the ways ForColumbia strives to love and serve our city is by giving our time and energy to beautify areas for everyone to enjoy. This year we are partnering with the city’s Office of Neighborhood Services to clear a city-owned property of overgrown brush that sits near a low-income neighborhood. When we give our time like this, we are actively seeking the good of our city – and our neighbors – in a tangible way.

Don't Forget to Wear Your T-Shirt! Green = Site Leader. White = Volunteer. What can I expect?

Volunteers will be working outside to clear honeysuckle. Afterwards, volunteers will invite those in the nearby neighborhood to join them and other ForColumbia volunteers for lunch at a nearby neighborhood project!

What should I bring?

  • Bring gloves, as well as any garden loppers or other heavy-duty gardening shears.
  • Come prepared to work outside; if sunny, we encourage you to consider bringing sunscreen and/or a hat.
  • We encourage all volunteers to wear close-toed shoes.
  • Be sure to wear your #ForColumbia2021 T-shirt!

Can I serve here with my children?

Yes, this is a great location to serve as a family with elementary-aged kids who can help!
