Why are we serving here?

One of the ways ForColumbia strives to love and serve our neighbors is by serving those non-profit organizations who are actively working every day in the lives of people in Columbia. The Stop Human Trafficking Coalition is an entirely volunteer-run effort to end and prevent forced labor and sexual exploitation of children, women and men in our community. One of the many things they do for women coming out of sex trafficking is provide housing for a period of time while they stabilize their lives.

What can I expect?

ForColumbia volunteers will be working at a home owned by this organization and provided rent-free to the women they help, in a variety of ways, including:

  • cleaning up the yard and putting in some landscaping;
  • clean and organize garage used for storage, including possibly building shelving;
  • installing ceiling lights in a few rooms and potentially some other electrical needs;
  • other minor repairs to the home as identified.

  • Be prepared for a sunny day by bringing sunscreen and/or a hat.

Can I serve here with my children?
